Inside sales are the sale of products or services by sales personnel who reach customers by phone or online, rather than traveling to meet them face-to-face. Inside relies on the phone, emails and the internet to reach customers.
Inbound marketing is a holistic, data-driven approach that leverages content on your website to attract buyers researching your products and services online. And then convert them to leads so you can close more deals.

This is a definition for Inside Sales but is rapidly ageing. Due to rapid increase in use of the internet and the tools available for use in corporate sales. There is a new paradigm shift in the B to B sales channels that has been changing over the last few years. Inside sales used to meet the definition above, however now many professional sales people classified as “Outside Sales” are actually acting as “Inside Sales”. Many work from home offices to support a geographical territory and use the phone, email and internet tools to support sales activities, product information and presentations and in many cases close deals while never stepping foot into the prospects office locations. This technically meets the definition of Inside Sales.
